LANDSCAPE PAINTING: Schedule and Events
This event will feature a one-hour demonstration on the process of underpainting, a Q & A period, and time for signing books. All too often painters dismiss the underpainting method because they don't fully understand its technical nuance, but it holds valuable lessons for establishing a foundation of drawing, value and composition. The demo will cover the method in detail. Friday, May 14 in Bellingham, Wash. | 6:30 9:30 pm Author and teaching instructor Mitchell Albala will host a lively critique of landscape paintings a great way to start the painting season. Works brought in by attendees will serve as a launching point for an exploration into many topics, from color and composition, to simplification and technique. Mitchell's engaging critiques often include examples, live diagramming of composition, and other visual aids. Books will be available for purchase and there will be time at the end to get your copy signed.
